Canzona is a select auditioned choir of 28-32 female singers from throughout San Luis Obispo county.  Now in its 17th season, Canzona presents two concerts each year, in November and March, featuring a wide variety of choral repertoire for women’s voices:  from classical to modern, ethnic to traditional, and sacred to secular.

Take a journey through centuries of sacred music with Canzona, from a Renaissance “Magnificat” by Isabella Leonarda to Poulenc’s 19th-century “Litanies à la Vierge Noire​” for women’s voices and organ. We’ll also entertain with Italian trios, Baroque duets, and lively a cappella madrigals in English and French!
